Parameter Views of Revit Shared Parameter File Viewer (RvtSPFViewer.exe)

Another issue (wish actually) with the old builds of Revit Shared  Parameter File Viewer (RvtSPFViewer.exe) with big shared parameter files, as reported back to us, was that the parameters were all laid out in a flat view. That caused great inconvenience for big Revit shared parameter files, which normally have many parameter groups instead of only one or two in small Revit shared parameter files, along with the performance issue as discussed about earlier.

Likely, each such group in big Revit shared parameter files contains a lot of shared parameters, from dozens to hundreds commonly, and it will be very hard to tack down to a particular parameter within that group, though the Revit Shared  Parameter File Viewer (RvtSPFViewer.exe) provides sorting for every column such as Parameter Group, Parameter Name, and Parameter GUID. The thing is the old sorting for the previous column will be lost after the next sorting for a new column. It is the limitation of the WPF DataGrid control and we cannot do much about it if the layout and the design of the view is not changed.

Because of that, we have redesigned the layout view for Revit Shared  Parameter File Viewer (RvtSPFViewer.exe). Now, in the new coming version, two views will be provided, one is still the old fashion flat view, but the other is grouped views which individually support field sorting, view scrolling down/up, and column resizing. Users can switch from one view to another in the same session of Revit Shared  Parameter File Viewer (RvtSPFViewer.exe) with a single click rather than changing some options and re-start.

The new Revit Shared  Parameter File Viewer (RvtSPFViewer.exe) will come out very soon. We are doing some final testing about it. Please stay tuned.

Just in case, you'd like to have a look at the previous build of Revit Shared  Parameter File Viewer (RvtSPFViewer.exe) or give it a try, it can be found in another post:
