The Batch Transport Types tool in the Transporters group of the Gadgets toolset helps transport element types (either family symbols such as various Door Types or system symbols such as Floor Types) from the current model to some external project files.
After the ribbon button is clicked, a dialog will appear.
Symbol Tree Viewer (on left):
- Tree Nodes: can be checked (fully or partially) to indicate what symbols will particular into the coming operations.
- Buttons: Check All/UnCheck All/Collapse/Expand/Show Checked/Show UnChecked/Invert Chosen/Show All
Thumbnail Browser (on right):
- displays thumbnails for the current (highlighted) symbol tree node.
Status Bar (on bottom left):
- displays how many families and symbols are of concern in the current model.
Buttons (on bottom right):
- Export: to export chosen elements, symbols or types to a HTML file.
- Cancel: to dismiss the dialog without doing anything to the model.
- OK: to close the dialog and transport chosen elements, symbols or types.
If the OK button is clicked, a file picker will show up as follows.
After one or more good file/folder candidates are chosen and the OK button clicked, those elements types will be transported into these files accordingly. A progress bar will appear to show what is going on.
At last, an information box will appear to display what have been done.
The transporting result can be checked by the Family Browser of Revit Family Organizer or the same Types Transporter here by opening that file first.
