The Edit Sheets tool in the Other Editors group of the Project Refinement tool-set can help edit all sheets of the current model at a nice single place.
After the ribbon button is clicked, the Sheets Editor window will show up.
Length Unit & Precision: to indicate the Revit length unit and precision that are set in the current model.
Options for Changing: to specify some extra control over cell editing.
- Apply Change to the Cell Itself without Others being Affected: to apply change to the cell itself without affecting others.
- Apply Change to All Others in the Same Column Except for the X and Name: if all cells under a column should have the same value to avoid repetitive clicks, this option can be turned on; otherwise off as by default.
- Apply Change to All Chosen Rows Except for the X and Name: if some cells under a column on chosen rows should have the same value to avoid repetitive clicks, this option can be turned on; otherwise off as by default.
Sheets:
The data grid provides information and allows edition for all existing sheets. Each row represents a sheet. Each column represents a property or parameter of sheets. Some columns are read-only and others are editable. Some columns are of edit box type, some combo box, and some check box.
Each cell is editable or read-only based on some conditions to avoid confusions and possible input errors. Only good candidates are available for choosing by each drop down box.
Buttons (from left to right, top to down):
- Erase Chosen: to erase chosen concerns.
- Duplicate Chosen: to duplicate chosen concerns.
- Export Chosen: to export chosen concerns to a HTML report file.
- Apply: to apply changes to the model.
- Cancel: to dismiss the dialog without doing anything to the model.
- OK: to close the dialog and make changes into the model accordingly.
All sheets can be edited, deleted, and duplicated if necessary at the nice single place. Here is a sample after many modifications to these sheets.
At this moment, if all sheets are chosen (the X column being checked), which can be done through right clicking on the area of data grid row headers and choosing Select All from the popped up context menu, and the Export Chosen button clicked, some data report in HTML format will be created and displayed on a page of the default web browser.
If the OK button (with a green check mark) is pressed, the modifications will be made to the current model accordingly. An information box will appear to show what have been done.
If the Cancel button (with a red cross symbol) is pressed, the dialog will be dismissed without anything done to the current model.
