The Explorer command of Family Files tools of Revit Family Organizer has more power. It has another family item view, Details, than the default Thumbnails one. In addition, the context menu of the family item view window provides some more shortcut commands such as Open in Windows Explorer, Rename, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, and Cleanup Auto Backups, which pretty match those buttons on the top pane.
If the Details View is chosen, the family item window will switch to a different view, flat with more details such as File name, Product name, Version, Bitness, Date of creation, and file Size, each of which can all be sorted.
Now let's talk about the Find window a bit. If a keyword like 'Double' is input into the 'Find what' box and the current folder is 'Doors' for example as shown in the earlier above dialog, and some finding options are properly set, e.g. 'Look in' as Current Folder Only, not matching case, not matching whole name, not using regular expressions, and listing the finding results in a new explorer window, a new 'Find results' window will show up, as follows:
Of course, it depends on the real contents in the current (highlighted) folder. If the 'Find in' option is chosen as Include Nested Folders, all family files in the current folder and its nested folders regardless of levels will all be searched and much more results will be found.
They can be selected (checked) for later use, e.g. being loaded into a Revit project model that is opened in Revit or into some Revit project files that simply reside on disk, which behavior will be introduced soon.
All of these can be exercised in the free trail edition of Revit Family Organizer.
